Based on the film by KURASAWA, which is an essay of the variable ways that humans perceive truth.

The story revolves around the rape of a young woman and the killing of her husband.

In the court case there are 4 testimonies: The charged criminal, the wife, The spirit of the dead husband and a surprise witness.

Each testimony is quite different.

In between each witness, Jacqui has introduced 3 foxy and philosophical cleaning ladies.

Tthey are a type of investigating chorus, commenting cynically on the actions and the motives. The play unfolds with the audience as judge and jury.
